![]() Central Ohio American Charities Elect New Board Member Columbus, Ohio - October 13, 2011 - Stephen Hunckler, CPCU, AIC, Vice President/Chief Claims Officer and Risk Control Services Officer was elected to the Board of Directors of Central Ohio American Charities (COAC). Full story... 2011 Fourth Annual Trap and Sporting Clay Event benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project The event was held on Saturday August 27th at the Black Wing Shooting Center in Delaware, OH. A total of thirteen teams participated in the event, which featured a new format this year - 50 targets of Trap & 50 targets of Sporting Clays. The event was attended by over 20 Wounded Warriors and 10 Caregivers. Net proceeds from this year's event allowed COAC to present a $20,000 donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. Curtin through the generous support of employees of General Reinsurance Corporation ![]() John Gerald Curtin was born on March 12, 1990. After graduating from Dover High School (NY) he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps active duty in October of 2009, and left for Afghanistan January 15, 2011. Some time during the week of February 10-17, 2011, Lance Corporal John Curtin was on a mission which consisted of sweeping a house for mines and weapons. John was the last one in and guarding the door as the rest of his platoon was sweeping the house. John moved about a foot in the wrong direction and an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) detonated near him which led to the amputation of both of his legs above the knee, shrapnel to his torso and damage to both of his hands.
